About this project

Scripture first. Study help second.

The Free Grace Bible is built to make the Bible easy to read while keeping the gospel clear: eternal life is God's free gift, received by faith alone in Christ alone.

Why this Bible?

For years I wanted a Bible that would do two things at once: give me God's true Word, and then help me see more clearly the one thing I believe God most wants to impart to us, the free grace He holds out to us in Jesus. Plenty of Bibles give you study notes, commentaries, maps, and history, and I am thankful for them. But none of them quite kept their eyes on grace the way my heart longed for. This is the Bible I always wanted, and by God's kindness I am finally able to put it together.

The words of Scripture here are not mine, and I would not change one of them. They are the World English Bible, a faithful translation that is in the public domain, free for anyone to read and use. What I assembled is everything that surrounds that text: the Free Grace notes, the book sermons, the quizzes, the connections, and the study helps, all of it helping you focus on the wonderful gift of everlasting life that only Jesus Christ offers.

And that gift is received in the simplest way there is: by believing in Him, by faith alone, and once it is yours it is kept forever by Him. If you have never believed, you can receive it right now, as you read. If you already have, this is here to help you rest in it, grow in it, and be sure of it.

Do not walk alone

One thing before you read. This website was never meant to be the whole of your life with God. It is a companion, a place to read, to study, and to rest in the free gift. It can never replace two things God gives His people: His gathered church, and one another.

So find a good, Bible-believing church, one that lifts up Christ and preaches grace, and go. Sit with real people. Sing with them, pray with them, be known by them. Scripture tells us not to give up meeting together, but to spur one another on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24-25). A screen can feed your mind, but it cannot bring you a meal when you are sick, or lay a hand on your shoulder and pray. God meant for you to have that, and to be that for someone else. So read here gladly, then close this website and go be with God's people.

The Bible Text

The Scripture text is the World English Bible. It is public domain and is not rewritten to fit the study notes. The reader is canon only: the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments.

The Study Layer

The notes, sermons, quizzes, and connections are a study layer placed around the Bible. They are meant to help readers understand Scripture, not replace it.

Free Grace Position

The project argues from a Free Grace understanding of the gospel: faith is the saving condition, works belong to discipleship and reward, and assurance rests on Christ's promise.

AI Assistance

Some study material was drafted or organized with AI assistance and then reviewed for consistency with the project's Free Grace commitments. The Bible text itself remains untouched.

How Debate Practice Is Handled

The debate tool is designed to state opposing positions fairly, answer from Scripture, and avoid cheap strawman arguments. It paraphrases debate patterns and objections instead of republishing long transcript excerpts.
